Ceramics II starts out with the boys creating a large scale representational sculpture of their own design. Students debate and sketch out ideas, print out reference photos, and divide up the work. This project based collaboration allows the boys interact with each other in a different capacity; they see themselves more as teammates rather than as individual artists, and often will work harder so that they don't feel like they are letting classmates down. Additionally, the boys enjoy using a variety of different building processes and techniques on a large scale.
