Digital Multiple Exposure Portraits

"One project I have really enjoyed in the past year, is a double exposure editing project. In this project you have to merge two images into each other creating the double exposure affect. An example would be a portrait shot, and the face gradients into clouds or fire. I really enjoyed this because the final edition is awesome, and once mastered the tool is awesome to play around with." - Caleb McKernan '20

Inspired by the analog montages by Jerry Uelsmann, boys learned basics in photo editing and masking along with the subtleties of layering image, positive and negative space, the use of space and composition.

Original portraits were created first, and a variety of them, from which the boys began selecting from previous photos for the overlay. Stock images if used, from Creative Commons, and manipulated.
